George Almas Obituary

George Almas 80 of Hooper St., Tiverton, RI passed away on June 1, 2007.
He was the husband of Agnes (Cambra) Almas. Mr. Almas Just celebrated his 80th Birthday on May 13th.
Born in Fall River, Mass., he was the son of the late Manuel Almas
And the late Elvira (Franco) Almas.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Carpenter at Newport Finishing in Fall River for 32 years.and previous to that he was Co-Owner of Almas Brothers Construction in Fall River.
He was a member of Holy Ghost Parish in Tiverton.
An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed building bird houses in his retirement.
He had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict
And was a member of the V.F.W. Post 4392 in Tiverton.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by a daughter Brenda Silva of Warren, RI and a son Brian Almas of Warren, RI. In addition, he leaves 6 grandchildren Jessica Bertrand, Daniel, Eric and Stephanie Silva, Justin and Jordan Almas.
He also leaves a brother Alfred Almas of Somerset, Mass., a sister Lorraine DaPonte of Fall River and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ernest Almas.
Arrangements are with the POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME 462 Main Rd, Tiverton, RI.

His Funeral will be held on MONDAY at 8 am from the POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME 462 Main Rd, Tiverton, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Ghost Church at 9 am. Burial at St Patricks Cemetery, Fall River.
