Rochester, NH: Arthur E. Beane, 87, died Friday, November 23, 2007 at the Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover after a period of failing health.
Mr. Beane was born in Wakefield, MA on May 7, 1920, the son of Eli and Elizabeth (Fraughton) Beane and had been living in Rochester since 1985 moving from Somersworth and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Rochester. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Beane who died in May of 2007.
He served during WWII with the United States Marine Corps and also served in Korea and Vietnam with the US Air Force, retiring after 28 years of military service. He enjoyed golf and bowling, loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed wintering in Florida.
Surviving members of the family include: four sons, Arthur Beane and his wife Ruth Bonney of Huston, TX, Peter Beane and his wife Phung of Salem, NH, Steve Beane and his wife Tanya of Bowie, MD and John Beane and his wife Jennifer of San Diego, CA, three daughters, Teri Hill and her husband Richard of Lyons, KA, Chris Beane-Martin and her husband Jim of Somersworth and Betsy Guilmette of Somersworth. He also leaves one brother, Leo Beane and one sister Margaret Pothier both of Massachusetts, as well as twenty two grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main Street, Rochester, NH on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church on Lowell Street in Rochester with Fr. Pierre Baker officiating, followed with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. To sign the on-line guest book, please go to www.GrondinFuneralHome.com.
