Elena Monzo-Burtosky Obituary

Peacefully passed away October 4, 2008, at the age of 86. Helen was born January 6, 1922, in Pittsburgh, PA. She has resided in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area since 1991. Helen is survived by her two sisters, Mary Zigarovich of Monroeville, PA, and Stella Cole of Valencia, CA; three children, Carol Lucidi (Bob), Bob Burtosky (Wanda), and Anita Burtosky- Mays (Jerry); five grandchildren, Christy Lucidi Miller, Randy, Justin, Lizabeth, and Bryce Burtosky; and seven great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Angelo, Dominic, Gabriel, James, and Al Monzo; sisters, Anne Oslinski, Lilly Villinger, and Marcia Cremona. Helen was also preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Lucidi. Helen worked as the banquet manager for Al Monzo's Palace Inn in Monroeville, PA, from 1973 until her retirement in 1991. The 289 room hotel was a landmark and social hub for the area. She was responsible for all the hotel functions from conventions to weddings and meetings. Her abilities to make every client feel as though they were her only responsiblity made the Palace Inn one of the most successful convention centers in the Pittsburgh area. She will be solely missed by her loving family and all she knew and touched. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 9, 2008, 12 noon at St. John's Catholic Church, 9080 Cincinnati- Dayton Rd., West Chester, OH 45069.
