Margaret Ellen Roberts

ROBERTS-Margaret Ellen, age 66, of Papillion, NE, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009 in North Platte, NE, as a result of cancer. Margie was born June 25, 1942 in Detroit, MI to Harry and Gladys Gubbins. After receiving her nursing degree (R.N.), she became interested in trauma nursing, working as an emergency nurse for many years. Margaret helped educate numerous first responders and was involved with 911 services in Christian County, IL. She furthered her education with a bachelor's degree in nursing completed in May 1998. Later she shifted her career focus to the management of quality care in Texas and Nebraska hospitals. In 1963 Margaret was united in marriage to Dallas James Rausch of Marysville, OH. To this union three children were born. Their marriage ended in 1984. In 1991, Margaret married Thomas William Roberts of Clinton, IL. They divorced in 1994. Margaret is survived by her 3 children, Robyn Vinson (Gary) of Hershey, NE, Tim Rausch (Chris) of Luhe- Wildenau, Germany, Jason Rausch of Plainfield, IL. She is survived by her siblings, Harry Gubbins (Lynn) of Battle Creek, MI, Molly (Don) Kogut of Mill Valley, CA, and Philip Gubbins (Christine) of Bellingham, WA. She was blessed with five grandchildren, James Lee, Mathilda, Dexter, Abigail, and Jackson, and two great grand children, Cree and Braiden. Numerous friends filled her life with great joy and her dog, Winnie, was her loyal companion. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Tom Roberts, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Service is planned for Sunday, February 22nd at 3pm at St. Martha's Church, Papillion, NE. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. CARPENTER MEMORIAL CHAPEL
