Please accept my dearest sympathies. Caril was a beautiful person in every way. I feel honored to have worked with her for three years during my time as a student assistant in admissions at UCR. She was pleasant and extremenly helpful to students and a wonderful supervisor. I have fond memories of Caril, in particular, the times when the applications would stop coming in by the hundreds and Caril and I would chat, tell jokes, and laugh. She always spoke of Laura and James proudly. Laura, I have never had the opportunity to meet you but please know that your mother was so proud of you and your accomplishments! She loved you so much! My sincerest sympathies to James, Laura, and her family. Caril you were a wonderful mother figure during the time I was a student at UCR. Your are greatly missed on this earth.

Caril's presence made our world a better place in so many ways; a much loved daugher, making the path easier for countless students, a healthy garden patch, her playful kitties, her curiosity and interest in the world around her. I pray that her family's unbearable loss can be made bearable knowing she is dancing in a spring meadow, strong and healthy. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Caril's husband, Jim, and to her sister, Janis Kraus & family. It is especially sad for Jan to loose her sister shortly after the recent passing of her mother.
Caril was my cousin who often visted her grandparents and my family in Minnesota. She was a sweet girl in childhood, and a wonderful and caring individual in adulthood. God rest her soul.

Caril was an advocate for the students that she served at UCR. I could share many stories where she went above and beyond the call of duty to assist a student but I will just share one that really stands out. About a week after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, Caril received a phone call from a previous UCR applicant who wanted to know if she could be readmitted to UCR because the university she was planning to attend was under water. As our procedure dictated, Caril referred the student to the appropriate college office for information on how to readmit to UCR. The student called Caril back, very upset because she didn't feel that the college office was willing to help her. Caril came immediately into my office, obviously very upset because the student wasn't receiving the help that she deserved. Long story short, Caril ensured that the student was taken care of and ultimately readmitted to UCR. We will all miss Caril very much!

I was so sad to hear of Caril's passing. I worked with her in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at UC Riverside and found her to be so very helpful and pleasant to all she encountered. She will be sorely missed. I pray her family will find solace in knowing she is no longer in pain and discomfort.

How sad to hear of Carils passsing. My many memories of this friend go back almost 50 years. She was such a good person & always had a smile. I will find comfort in knowing she is now in the loving arms of our Lord & feels pain no more. May God Bless the family that morns her.
