Not sure what to say?

I have known Don off and on for 13 years. He was a tough but fair adjuster with me and we would always settle the claim. He also lived only 5 minutes from me so I would see him at High Point Athletic Club. We would joke around and admire some of the sights.

He was a gentleman and a decent guy.

May he rest in peace.

I speak for all of our associates when I say that Don will be missed. Don was the adjuster on the first claim that I ever handled. I remember the kind and professional way he treated me, (even though I may have been in over my head at the time). Over the years, I would see him from time to time, and it was always a treat for me. I was tremendously saddened to learn of his recent passing. Our thoughts are certainly with his family and friends this day.

Don was my uncle and when I received the call from my brother that Don had passed away I had no idea what Don he was talking about. Surely it was not the always tan, larger than life uncle of mine.

My fondest memories of Don are when my brother and I were younger and we would play with Don on the sofa at my Grandparent's home in Glenside. He would "trap" us with his big arms and would let us fight our way out of the "trap". That sofa is much older now and it resides in my basement with all its memories.

One other memory of Don is when he would cruise me around Ocean City, NJ in the orange Corvette. I was 14 or 15 and boy did I think it was the coolest.

Later in life I married and moved to the same town that Don lived in, Chalfont. I did not see Don often as I got older, but every once in a while I would see this orange Corvette Stingray driving around town and knew that it was my cool uncle.

Thanks for the memories Don, you will be missed.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words and thoughts about my Uncle Don. He was the best Uncle and friend, and he will be greatly missed. I will always remember Uncle Don as the cool cat driving his orange corvette, always tan and just returning from a trip to Florida! My uncle loved life more than anyone I know; he enjoyed spending his time with high school, college, and beach friends, in addition to spending time with his family. He loved his "Oldies but Goodies" music, his cigars, and his time spent near the beach and the ocean.

We love you so much, Uncle Don, and we will forever miss you, but will always smile when we think of all the good memories you've brought into our lives.

Don and Iworked together at Weeks- Worthington for at least 10 years. We played tennis frequently. We started, and continued for many years, the tradtion of playing on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. It was a great way to start the long weekend. I remember him as really enjoying much of what life had to offer. Fifty Four years was far too early for him to go but easily long enough to make a mark that will shine for a long time to come. He was a very good man.

We met Don over 17 years ago through the work we did together. We saw each other off and on over the years and just recently started seeing more of him. We saw Don on Wednesday, and joked that his tan needed rejuvenating. We talked again on Friday about the upcoming Christmas Holidays and our plans. When we learned about Don's untimely passing, we were very surprised and deeply saddened. Although we didn't know Don that well, when we did see each other we always took time for some friendly chat.

It is always hard to loose a loved one however; to loose someone during this very joyous time of year is even more heartfelt. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends.

Our heartfelt sympathy to all of Don's family and friends. We knew Don as a devoted son to his mother, Ethel, and a wonderful brother to his sister, Diane. We always enjoyed his company and humor at different events at Willow Ridge. He will be greatly missed but fondly in our memories. You are in our prayers, Susann & Robert Undi and Roseann Lauff.

If I were able to express myself clearly enough at this time, I would fill a book of ten thousand words. Don and I attended law school and graduate school together, shared summer homes at the shore and an affinity for Corvettes while maintaining a friendship for over 30 years. We were 30 days apart in age and I always considered Don my "younger" brother! This world means a little less now without him. Don, you maintain a special place in my heart.

Don was a friend from the day that I met him 20 years ago at a Bux Mont Claims outing.

There was Don tan and dapper as usual sipping on his light beer with ice with, his cocky confidant smirk. After meeting Don I convinced him to work with me at Weeks Worthington & Co where he worked with me for 15 years. He was always fun to work with and his sense of humor was legendary. Don was with me the very special night that I met my wife Linda at a Christmas party in King of Prussia in 1984.

When Don left Weeks and started his own company DGE Insurance Services he was supposed to be a competitor with my company Massa McClure & Co Inc, but Don was never really my competitor, he was my friend. We help each other in this tough claims business and were always willing to help each other in any way possible. That is what friends do, help each other and Don I am proud to say was my co-worker, peer and most of all my friend.

I will miss the way he called me “Yo Mas” and all of his funny sayings. I will miss him calling the Eagles the “Beagles” which he shorten to say the “Beages”. Most of all I will miss my friend Don Widdoes.

I knew Don through the insurance business and while our meetings were few, I was always struck by how he remembered me each tme even when my memory failed. It always added a little someting to attend a meeting or social event and find him there.
