Dear Arleta....
It is hard to explain how deeply I feel having heard of Bob's passing. I've only known you and Bob for a few months as neighbors here in Cove Point. But your history as missionaries, your love for the Lord, your love for one another, and your obvious spirit of Christian maturity have touched my heart. Even in our short interactions, I have been reminded in wonderful ways of the spirit I saw in my own parents. Like you and Bob they too were missionaries in South America. It's hard to understand why the Lord would have taken Bob so unexpectedly in this way. We do know His ways are higher than ours, but that knowledge seems feeble in the face of your loss. I have already heard that you feel both the loss and the peace of the Lord. Your example of courage, faith, and confidence in Christ continue to inspire me. It is in times such as this that the only peace that will suffice is the "peace that passes understanding." May Jesus give you that peace...with new mercy fresh each morning.

With tears,
Jim
