Ralph Guy Obituary

South Glens Falls Ralph Bertram Guy Jr., passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on Nov. 11, 1927, in Amsterdam, N.Y., he was the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Ann (Aubrey) Guy, Sr. Ralph joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 16 and served in the Pacific and Japan during World War II. He was a gas planner for Niagara Mohawk, and retired after many years of service. He loved gardening, working around his house and yard; he restored cars, was an avid fly fisherman and a collector of tools. He believed everything had its place and everything was in its place. Survivors include his wife of 58 years in November, Theresa "Duffy" Guy of South Glens Falls; his son, James Guy of Dallas, Texas; his daughter, Mary Guy of Boston, Mass.; sister-in-law, Regina Glogowski of Melrose, N.Y.; three nephews: Michael Glogowski and his wife, Liz, of Auburn, Calif., Steven Glogowski and his wife, Cheryl, of Corinth and David Glogowski of Melrose; three great-nephews; one great-niece along with several cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in South Glens Falls. Family and friends are invited and may call from 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, May 26, 2008, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls. Those who wish may send a remembrance in his name to Moreau Community Center, Attn: Emergency Food Pantry, P.O. Box 1456, South Glens Falls, NY 12803, Moreau Emergency Squad, 1583 Route 9, Fort Edward, NY 12828 or to St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
