Glens falls, n.y. and Redondo beach, Calif. Carol B. Sheehan, 69, of Redondo Beach, Calif., passed away on Feb. 12, 2008, after a long illness. She was born on Dec. 20, 1938, in Newark, N.J., the daughter of the late Anthony and Elinor Beeaker. Carol graduated from Cathedral High School in Trenton, N.J., in 1956 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University School of Nursing in 1960. She went on to become a head nurse at Georgetown University Hospital for two years, then spent the following two years working for a prominent cardiologist in Washington, D.C. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who loved to knit for her grandchildren. Carol was an avid patron of the arts and regularly attended the NYC theatre and ballet; cooking, painting and gardening were her other joys. She enjoyed her last years at the ocean in Redondo Beach, Calif. Carol is the former wife of Dr. Michael Sheehan. They had four children: Karen Sheehan-Nam and her husband, Phil, of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; Suzanne Sheehan-Jowly and her husband, Rick; Michael Sheehan and his wife, Koren, both of Queensbury, N.Y.; and Christopher Sheehan of Boca Raton, Fla. There are four grandchildren: Richard Jowly, Lauren and William Sheehan and Madison Sheehan. Additional close family members include Jane McCormick Donovan of Glens Falls, N.Y. and Mary K. Donovan of Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. A funeral mass in Glens Falls will be held for family and friends at St. Mary's church on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at 11 a.m. She will be buried in Rumford, Maine.
