Dorothy Konz Obituary

CHESTERTOWN Dorothy Mary Konz, 88, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury. Born June 15, 1920, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Roach. Mrs. Konz was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Chestertown; she also played the organ and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 964 Ladies Auxiliary, Chestertown. Dorothy and her family spent many summers on Loon Lake. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard F. Konz Sr. whom she was married to for 40 years when he passed away. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. Survivors include her son, Richard F. Konz Jr. and his wife, Susan Reynolds of Pepperell, Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Chestertown, with the Rev. John O'Kane, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Chester Rural Cemetery, Chestertown. Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Barton-McDermott Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Pine St., Chestertown. Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, P.O. Box 471, Chestertown, NY 12817.
