Alice Jane Smith

THURMAN Alice Jane Smith of Bowen Hill Road, Thurman, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening, June 24, 2008 at her home. Our mom, sister, grandmother, aunt, and companion has gone to join her parents in the heavens above. Born June 15, 1955 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Flora Wood of Glens Falls and the late George Smith Sr. of Stony Creek. Besides her parents, Alice is predeceased by four brothers: Jerry Smith, Scott Smith, infant James, and another infant boy, twin niece and nephew Donald and Deborah West and one brother-in-law, Jean Lanoue, as well as numerous others. Survivors include, those she loved and cherished, one son, Al Moses and his wife, Erica, and their unborn baby of Westfield, Ind.; one daughter, Alicia Moses and her son, Tyler of Schroon Lake, a special niece, Brigitte Bowers of Schroon Lake; nine sisters: Shirley Smith of Anchorage Alaska, Kay Smith and her companion, Ernie Bosford Jr. of Hudson Falls, Susie West (Darryl) of Warrensburg, Joyce Kaiser (Frederick) of Glens Falls, Edna Bowers (Stephen), Theresa Jenks (Bill), Gloria Lanoue all of Schroon Lake, and Stacie Ball of Pittsburg, Kan.; seven brothers: Henry Smith and his companion, Patty Cole, Roger Smith-Sullivan and Wayne Smith all of Glens Falls, Herbert Wood (Jeanne) of Warrensburg, Ralph Smith of Dallas, Texas, George Smith Jr. and his companion, Debbie King of Port Henry, and John Smith (Ann) of Pittsburg, Kan.; one uncle, Ernest Smith (Karma) of Athol; five aunts: Margaret French of Warrensburg, Mary Jo Smith of Peotone, Ill., Martha Smith of Indian Lake, Mae Wood of Corinth, Dorothy Wood of Warrensburg; her son's father, Lenny; her daughter's father, Bo; her friend, Clarence; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and several dear friends. Friends may call upon the family Sunday, June 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, June 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. Funeral services will follow the calling hour on Monday, June 30 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Captain Michael Knepp of Salvation Army, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Lake Luzerne Cemetery. A special thank you to the EMS workers and hospital staff who responded in our time of need. Thank you also to the Baker family for all of your help and support.
