Loren Dingman Obituary

LAKE LUZERNE Loren E. Dingman, age 82, died Wednesday evening, June 25, 2008, at his home following a long illness. Born on July 16, 1925, in Stony Creek, he was the son of Foster and Esther (Eldridge) Dingman and a lifelong resident of the area. He married Judy Treanor on May 19, 1971, at the Rockwell Falls Presbyterian Church, Lake Luzerne. Loren served in the United States Army during World War II. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he began working at International Paper Company in Corinth. He retired as a supervisor after more than 30 years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club of the mill. Loren enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was a member of the Hudson Sacandaga VFW Post No. 5836 Hadley and a Life Member of the William J. Varney American Legion Post No. 862, Lake Luzerne. He was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Beach; two sons, George Tucker and Ronald Tucker; a sister, Mildred Dingman and three brothers: William, Robert and Duane Dingman. Survivors include his loving wife, Judy Dingman; their children, Linda Springer of Virginia Beach, Va., Myron Tucker and his wife, Paula, of Broadalbin, Susan Hoelscher and her husband, John, of Wharton, Texas, Joann Tucker of Glens Falls, Geraldine Marion and her husband, Dennis, of Pelzer, S. C.; his daughters: Lori Sanders of Lake Luzerne, Jodi Dingman of Glens Falls, Tina Dingman of Schuylerville and Tamara Dingman of Florida; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Dingman and his wife, Joanne, of Greenville, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Monday, June 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne where members of the Hudson Sacandaga VFW and members of the William J. Varney American Legion Post will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Burkely, pastor of the Rockwell Falls Presbyterian Church, officiating. Contributions in Loren's memory may be directed to the Hadley Luzerne Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 215, Lake Luzerne, NY 12846 or to the Warren County Meals on Wheels Program, Office for the Aging, 333 Glen St., Third Floor - Suite 306, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
