James Cox Obituary

SCHUYLERVILLE James F. Cox, 81, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008, at his Starks Knob Road home surrounded by his family. Born Dec. 20, 1926, in Albany, he was the son of James and Caroline Wetmore Cox. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army. Following his discharge with the rank of corporal from the Army, he enlisted with the Air Force Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1956 with the rank of airman first class. Jim had been a truck driver for Doran's Transportation in Albany for many years was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 294 and a member of the Union Retiree's Club. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, William, Dale and David Cox. Survivors are his wife, Carol Flint Cox of Schuylerville; his children: Carol L. Rosney and her husband, John Jr., of Troy, Linda E. Ridgeway and her husband, James, of King George, Va., Kenneth J. Cox and his wife, Monica, of Tucson, Ariz., Elaine D. Everts and her husband, Wayne, of Cameron, N.C., and Dale R. Cox and his wife, Christine, of Schuylerville; his brothers, Richard Cox and his wife, Jerri, of Beverly Hills, Fla., and Keith Cox and his wife, Beverly, of Troy; an uncle, William Wetmore of Newnan, Ga., 12 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, with the Rev. Joyce deVelder officiating. Interment with military honors will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m., today, July 14, 2008. The family suggests memorials in his name be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Online remembrances can be sent to www.flyn nbrosinc.com.

Good-bye Uncle Jim - Glad that we had our time in Vegas and you taught the girls how to eat fajitas!! They still love them. You're one of a kind - we love you and we will really miss you.
