Danny Emery Obituary

QUEENSBURY Danny L. Emery, 48, of East Branch Drive, died unexpectedly, Sunday, July 13, 2008. Born on Nov. 6, 1959, in Corinth, he was the son of the late Clarence Emery and the late Grace Emery Rieben, who recently died on June 28, 2008. Mr. Emery graduated from Corinth High School in 1979. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1979, serving as a weaponry expert and infantryman in South and North Carolina, Hawaii and in the Far East for four years until his discharge in 1983. Mr. Emery married Mary Lou Peck on March 16, 1982, in Hawaii. The couple resided in Florida for several years, and then moved to the midwest for a few years. In 1991, they settled in the Corinth area, and have lived in Queensbury for the past four years. Along with his wife, he was employed for Hill, Inc., renovating hotels and apartments in Florida and in the midwest for several years. He then worked at Conifer Park Drug and Rehab Center in Scotia for five years, and was currently employed as a truck driver for Patrick Transportation of Philadelphia. Mr. Emery enjoyed camping, working on his trucks, traveling and being with his family. He was anticipating the birth of his first grandchildren, and will be remembered as a loyal and devoted husband, father, son, son-in-law, brother and uncle. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by one sister, Lynette Emery, his stepfather, Chester Rieben and his father-in-law, Richard Baldwin. Survivors besides his wife of 26 years, Mary Lou Emery of Queensbury, include two children, Danny R. Emery of Queensbury and Annie L. Emery of Queensbury and her fiance, James R. Hamm; his siblings: Douglas Emery and his wife, Bev, of Corinth, Nanette Rose and her husband, John, of Corinth, Christine Lescault of Corinth, Gary Emery and his wife, Kathy, of Corinth, Michael Emery (Phyllis) of Luzerne, Jeane Lescault and her fiancé, Tom, of Hadley, David Emery (Kathy) of Corinth, Clarence Emery of Corinth, and Jerry Emery of Schroon Lake; his mother-in-law, Jane Baldwin of Glans Falls; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, at a later date. At Danny's request, there will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials take the form of donations to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of the Densmore Funeral Home, 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth.
