Shirley Wintermute Obituary

GLOVERSVILLE Shirley T. Wintermute, age 49, of Gloversville, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Albany Medical Center, following a long illness. She was born Nov. 23, 1958, in Gloversville. Shirley was a 1976 graduate of Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School. She was employed as a house manager with Lexington Center until her passing. Shirley loved to work and also enjoyed working in her garden. Survivors include her husband, Calvin Wintermute, whom she married June 25, 1994; three sons: Joshua Jonker of Ranger, Texas, Matthew Jonker of Cherry Valley, and Kyle Wilson of Cobleskill; one daughter, Sara Wintermute of Gloversville; two stepdaughters, Amy Wintermute of Mayfield, and Tonya Wintermute of St. Johnsville; one brother, Michael Smith of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Dale Dayton of Corinth; her parents, Harold Smith and Hattie Boyer Smith of Lassellsville; four grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and great-nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Pierce, in 2001. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 16, at 10 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main St., Johnstown. The Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams will officiate. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fical Cemetery, Lassellsville. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 959 Route 9 Mount Royal Plaza, Queensbury, NY 12804.
