Jeremy Jones Obituary

GRANVILLE Jeremy Paul Jones, age 33, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at his home as the result of a fire. Jeremy was born on Nov. 30, 1974, in Glens Falls, N.Y., the son of Paul and Jane (Marra) Jones. Jeremy was a graduate of Granville High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1993 to 1996. He was stationed aboard the USS Inchon where he served as the chef for the Officer's Dining Room. This was Jeremy's chance to "see the world," which he thoroughly enjoyed. Jeremy was most recently employed as the Assistant Night Manager at Price Chopper in Granville. Jeremy enjoyed "hanging" with his friends, fishing and boating. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, though all sports piqued his interest. Survivors, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Kim Moore and her husband, Scott, of Granville, aunts and uncles: David Jones and his wife, Mary, of Hampton, Tom Jones of North Granville, Jim Marra of Granville, Robin and Harlan Horton of Rochester, N.Y., Tim Marra and his wife, Sue, of Bridgeport, Conn., Charlie and Lynn of Granville, Lee and her husband, Charlie Ferguson, of Granville; cousins: James Marra, Steve Marra, Crystal McFarren, Jim McFarren, Jayson Marra and Richard and Jessica Coppins; and a niece, Hailey Marie Godette. Jeremy was predeceased by a cousin, Chuck Marra. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St. Granville, N.Y. Burial will follow at the Morningside Cemetery in Hartford, N.Y. Friends may call on Thursday, July 17, 2008, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northwoods at Hilltop (Formerly Hilltop Manor of Niskayuna), 1805 Providence Ave., Niskayuna, NY 12309, where Jeremy had previously received residential rehabilitation for an injury.
