Mack Greenwood Obituary

STONY CREEK Mack P. Greenwood, 70, of Harrisburg Road, passed away, unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at his home following a long illness. Born in Schenectady on Sept. 9, 1937, he was the son of the late Milford and Helen (Bullet) Greenwood, and stepfather George Brown. Mack moved to Stony Creek in 1965. Through the 1970s, he worked at the former Sittin' Bull Ranch in Warrensburg. He later worked at the Warrensburg Paper Mill and the Gideon Putnam Hotel in Saratoga Springs. He was also a past member of the Stony Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Mack married his beloved wife, Rebecca Sprague on Oct. 31, 1971. Besides his parents and step father, Mack was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Manderville. Survivors besides his wife of 36 years include his two sons, David P. Greenwood of Stony Creek and Phillip S. Greenwood of Lake Luzerne; his sister, Janet McKinney of Hudson Falls. Mack is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, George and Elaine Sprague; brothers-in-law; George Sprague; Jerry Sprague and his wife, Maureen; Kevin Sprague of Warrensburg; Mike Sprague and his companion, Jody, of Cortland; and sister-in-law, Lori Combs and her husband, Scott, of Warrensburg; along with several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Mack's family from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 21, at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in care of the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg, NY 12885 to assist the family defraying funeral expenses.
