Irma Howard Obituary

White Creek, N.Y. A Committal service for Irma A. Howard, 94, of Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Fla., who passed away June 18, 2008, at Avante Nursing Home, will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. at the Center White Creek Cemetery. A Memorial Service to celebrate and remember Irma's life will be held at 12 p.m. at the Jermain Methodist Church in White Creek, followed by lunch at Jermain Hall. The Committal Service and memorial will be led by her nephew, Oliver H. Perry. Mrs. Howard was born in North Hoosick, Jan. 20, 1914. She and her husband Agan, who died in 1990, lived in White Creek and the Cambridge area for many years. During that time, Irma was active in the Embury United Methodist Church in Cambridge and she was the admitting officer at Mary McClellan Hospital for 17 years. In Florida, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ormond Beach. A hard worker, Irma truly enjoyed working with her wonderful friends. Her interests included world events, crossword puzzles and spending time with those she cherished. She is survived by a son, Gareth Howard and wife, Marilyn of Stanfordville, N.Y.; Two grandchildren, Meghan Howard and Andrew Howard his and wife, Anna, all of Silver Springs, Md.; A great-grandson, Elliott C. Howard and several nephews. In lieu of other remembrances, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of their choice in Irma's name. Local arrangements under the direction of Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, Cambridge.
