Oh my goodness!! First Annie and now Ernie! As we said in Annie's Guestbook, we always had a great time at our restaurant, DeFino's Heritage in Luzerne, with Ernie, Arlene, Mike and Annie. Sincere sympathy to Arlene, the children and grandchildren.

Although I never knew Ernie, I can see from all the tributes that he was truly and deeply loved and highly regarded by all who did know him or whose lives were touched by him in some small way. I can only say to Arlene and Janice and the rest of his family that I am extremely saddened at their tremendous loss, and that my thoughts and prayers are with all of them at this very difficult time.

Although I have not seen Ernie in many years, my memories of him are fond ones. I spent many hours "at the bar" with Ernie after rehearsals and shows and got to know him as one tough, funny, sweet guy. My condolences to Arlene, Sally, Janice, Nora and their respective families.

Ernie was a class act and a real sweet guy. He always made you feel welcome in his presence whether it be in his home, celebrating after a show or building a set. I will miss his smile, his admiration and love for his family and his sense of humor. Arlene was lucky to have found her partner in Ernie and their children were lucky to have been blessed with such a beautiful father. The theater community will miss Ernie a great deal. I will miss him saying "God Bless you Billy" whenever we spoke. God Bless you Ernie.

Stew and I just adored Ernie! It's a rare thing to know someone who is genuinely such a warm, caring, funny and extremely NICE person. We feel honored to have known him and to be able to call him our friend. Bless you, Ernie...you will be sorely missed!

Jay and I were very fond of Ernie. His wry sense of humor and dry, understated wit were a good counterbalance to all of us dramatic, over-the-top theatre queens! He loved his "girls" madly, and didn't seem to mind being outnumbered...his Marine background made him more than equal to the task! (Let's face it: you needed a Marine to keep up with Arlene!) We love you, Ernie, and will miss you MUCH....God bless you all at this difficult time.....
