Allen E. Doty Jr.

South Glens Falls Allen E. Doty, Jr., 74, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at his residence. Born on March 21, 1933, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Allen E. and Aletia (Peno) Doty Sr. Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1951 until 1955 during the Korean War, attaining the rank of sergeant. Dur- ing his service, he received the Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Cita- tion Emblem, Commendation Ribbon, National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He received his electrical associate degree and worked in meter and test at Niagara Mohawk for many years. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn Doty, on Sept. 9, 2003. Survivors include his children, Stephen Doty and his wife, Sharon, of Saratoga Springs, Bryan Doty of Glens Falls and Karen Hoag of South Glens Falls; grandchildren, Matthew Allen, Stacey Allen and Jacob Hoag of South Glens Falls, Aleta Doty, Hannah Doty and Eva Doty of Saratoga. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls. Burial will follow at Glens Falls Cemetery, Family and friends are invited and may call from 4 to 6 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls.
