Ruth A. Ellis

SOUTH GLENS FALLS Ruth A. Ellis, 65, of Chestnut Street, died unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at her home after a long illness. Born on Feb. 27, 1942, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Hurley) Beecher. Ruth was a graduate of Fort Edward High School, Class of 1960. She cherished and lived for her children and grandchildren and her greatest joy was all of their achievements, which she would express to them daily. She remembered them and her friends with phone calls, presents, cards and thoughtful notes. On Oct. 20, 1979, Ruth married her love, Jay A. Ellis at the Hartford United Methodist Church surrounded by her family and friends. She greatly appreciated Jay's unconditional love, devotion and patience. She enjoyed their time together by taking rides in the car, going shopping and going out to eat. Ruth had a strong faith and would show it by her caring thoughts and deeds to others. Survivors, besides her husband of 27 years, include her children, Timothy Casey and his wife, Colleen, of Hartford, Patricia (Casey) Alexander and her husband, Steven, of Salem, and Kelli (Casey) Herrick "Bubbles the Clown" of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Chanleigh Casey, Kayla Casey and Lucas Casey, Dean Sherman and Lexi Herrick; her step-children, Melissa Ellis and her companion, Tom, of Hudson Falls, Jay Ellis and his wife, Penny, of Schuylerville, and Amy Ellis and her companion, Paul, of Battenville; her step-grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlyn Ellis; her sister, Mary Ellen Yovin and her husband, Jay, of Tuscon, Ariz.; her brothers, Gene Beecher of Hudson Falls, Michael Beecher and his wife, Marie, of South Glens Falls, John Beecher and his wife, Mary, of Fort Edward, Edward Beecher and his wife, Dorothy, and Mark Beecher, all of Glens Falls; several nieces and nephews and her close cousin, Dorothy Butler of Saratoga. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St., South Glens Falls. E-mail condolences may be sent at www.kilmers.com. Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at the funeral home with the Rev. Patti Girard, pastor of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Wilton, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, South Glens Falls.
