Eunice Barber Obituary

NORTH HUDSON Eunice L. Barber, 82, passed away early Tuesday morning Oct. 30, 2007, at her home with her loving family by her side. Eunice was born May 10, 1925, in Concord, Mass., the daughter of Alfred and Addie Mae Rich Casavoy. Eunice was predeceased by Sister Jeanne Amyot and Frances Skinkle. Eunice was a retired clerk from the New York State Depart of Labor where she served for many years. She resided in Albany for 32 years and moved to North Hudson in 1985. She enjoyed shopping, camping, genealogy, but most of all spending time with her family. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Eunice is survived by her husband of 56 years, James J. Barber of North Hudson; her four daughters, Kathleen (Allen) McLean of Albany, Patricia Barber of Albany, Judith (Stuart) Powers of Schenectady, and Karen (Mark) Murray of Colonie; her sons, Michael (Debra Mainville) Barber, of Kinderhook, and John (Christine) Barber, of Albany; her sister, Elaine Card of North Hudson; her brother-in-law, Thomas (Helen) Barber of Colonie, 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, Nov. 2, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Schroon Lake. The Rev. Richard Sturtz will officiate. Cremation will follow with burial at a later date. Friends may call Thursday, Nov. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home, 1019 Route 9, Schroon Lake. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Margaret and Mary's Catholic Church in Albany and will be announced at a later date. The family suggests memorials take the form of donations to; High Peaks Hospice, 4314 Main St., Port Henry, NY 12974.

It is with great sorrow that we hear of Aunt Eunices passing. I have to believe that she has lived a full and active life. Remembering my pass trips to Albany, she was always off camping with Jimmy. May we all remember the good times.
