Gretchen Piaseczny Obituary

ST. CLOUD, Fla. Gretchen "Gret" Margaret Piaseczny, 71, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at her home on Carolina Avenue, after a short illness, surrounded by loving members of her family. Born June 30, 1935, to the late Ernest A. and Mildred J. (Mosher) Booth, she was raised in Easton, N.Y. Gret graduated from Greenwich High School in 1954, and was a varsity cheerleader and a member of the school chorus and band. Gretchen graduated from Adirondack Community College in 1983, with an associate degree in applied science. Gretchen was an active member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in St. Cloud and a member of their Thursday morning Bible study. She will be remembered as a woman of great faith and a women committed to her family, extended family and to her friends, many of whom go back to her childhood and young adulthood. Gretchen was predeceased by her husbands, Paul A. Rose who died in 1981, and the love of her life, John S. Piaseczny, who died in 2002. Gretchen is survived by her loving sons and their families: Gregory P. Rose and daughter-in-law, Merry and their daughter, Isabella, and Randolph J. Rose and his son, Robert; her sisters, Shirley Wolfe of Edison, N.J., Faith Booth of Rochester, N.Y., and Effie O'Neill of Melbourne, Fla.; her brothers, Duane of Stephentown, N.Y., and Dennis and his wife, Colleen, of Lexington, N.C.; her step-daughter, Patricia Duval and husband, Frank, and family, of Mansfield, Ohio; step-nephew, Leonard Piaseczny and his wife, Deborah, and their daughter, Aniela, of Chaplin, Conn.; aunt, Winifred Mosher of Greenwich, N.Y.; aunt, Effie and uncle William Butz of Easton, and aunt Audrey Booth of Greenwich; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, N.Y., at 11 am, Saturday, November 10, 2007. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to the COPD Foundation, Inc., 2937 SW 27th Ave., Suite 302, Miami, FL 33133 or to the charity of one's choice. Online remembrances can be sent to www.flynnbrosinc.com.

Greg:
I remember your mom as a sweet, wise woman who was always ready with a cup of coffee and a kind word. I have many happy memories of sitting and talking with her at the kitchen table all those years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
