Elizabeth Waddell Obituary

QUEENSBURY Elizabeth "Betty" (Camarro) Waddell, 73, of Elizabeth Lane, Queensbury, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 16, 2007, following a courageous battle against a terminal illness. Born Nov. 18, 1933, in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Jean L. (Southern) Camarro. After gaining her education from Saratoga Springs High School, Betty married Robert Waddell on March 2, 1963. Some of her enjoyments included crafts, bingo, bowling and traveling. She was a mother who was devoted to raising her family.In later years, she was very involved and interested in the lives of her grandchildren, whether it be attending sports or other school events. Above all, spending time with her family was very important to her. Besides her parents, one son, Christopher Waddell; three brothers, James Camarro, Charles Camarro and Vincent Camarro; and one son-in-law, David Preston, predeceased Betty. Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Robert Waddell of Queensbury; three daughters: Mariann Preston of Glens Falls, Carol Macy of Queensbury and Bobbi Deihl of Hudson Falls; seven grandchildren: Kimberly Kirby and her husband, Clark, of Glens Falls, Spencer, Shelby and Hannah Macy, all of Queensbury, Chelsea and Sarah Deihl and Emily Miller, all of Hudson Falls; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Rivers of Hudson Falls; two sisters, Patricia Welden and her husband, George, of Ballston Spa and Jean Ford of Wilton; one brother, Dennis Camarro of Malta; also several sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. Friends may call upon the family on Monday, Nov. 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Bill Bazinet of St. Alphonsus Church officiating. Burial will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville. Donations, in loving memory of Betty, may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Frances Bollinger of Moreau Family Health Center, Nicole Gillis, Warren County Public Health Nurse, Kim Stimpson, home health aide, the staff of Home Therapy of Glens Falls and all the staff at Glens Falls Hospital and The Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre for their compassion in taking care of Betty.
