Allyn Woodcock Obituary

SCHUYLERVILLE It is with great sorrow we inform you of the passing of our beloved husband and father, Allyn Woodcock Sr. on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Saratoga Hospital. He was 77. Born Oct. 10, 1930, in Greenfield Center, N.Y., he is the son of the late Thurlow and Alma Sisler Woodcock. Allyn married his loving wife Isabell Ross Woodcock on Jan. 13, 1951. Together they owned and operated several adult homes for 47 years. Allyn loved model trains, race cars, working on MG's and Model T's and travel in his motor home. Allyn, affectionately known as "Pa," loved spending time with his family very much. He was also a communicant of Bethesda Episcopal Church in Saratoga Springs. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Allyn Woodcock Jr., two brothers, Thurlow and Kenneth Woodcock and a sister, Joan Parker. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Isabell, two sons, Kenneth Robert Woodcock and his significant other, Candie Schillenger of Saratoga Springs, Terry Keith Woodcock and his wife, Laura, of Cambridge, one daughter, Laurie Ann Brady and her husband, Thomas, of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Barbara Moses of Saratoga Springs and Patricia Stiles and her husband, Edward, of Schuylerville, twelve grandchildren: Allyn III, David John, Anthony, Meghan, Kendra and Stephanie Woodcock, Susan Phillips, Megan Collins, John Oliver, Victoria Sell, Samantha and James Herrington; five great- grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Anna Woodcock of Saratoga Springs; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Woodcock of Saratoga Springs and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Bethesda Episcopal Church, corner of Broadway and Washington Street, by the Rev. Thomas T. Parke, rector. Burial will take place in the family plot at Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Avenue. Memorial contribution in his memory may be made to General Schuyler Emergency Corp., Ferry Street, Schuylerville, NY 12871. "Pa's" family would like to extend an invitation to all to join them at the Saratoga-Wilton B.P.O. Elks Lodge 161 on Maple Avenue following graveside services.
