Betty Winslow Obituary

FORT EDWARD Betty Hazelton Winslow, 85, formerly of Fort Edward, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Eden Park Health and Rehabilitation Center in Glens Falls, after a long illness. Born on Jan. 29, 1922, in Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Lena Eastman. In 1942, Betty married Robert F. Hazelton Sr. He passed away in 1974. Her second husband, Donald Francis Winslow, passed away on Oct. 18, 1996. For many years, Betty was a nurse's aide, working in many homes throughout the area. She loved her job, taking care of people in need. Betty was a kind, wonderful woman to everyone she met. Some of her enjoyments include creating all sorts of crafts and painting. Besides her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by several of her brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children: William Hazelton of Queensbury, Thomas Hazelton of Georgia, Robert Hazelton Jr. of Glens Falls, John Hazelton of Connecticut, Richard Hazelton of Florida, Carol Anne Waite of Greenwich, Brian Hazelton of Warrensburg and Donald Winslow of Glens Falls; several grandchildren; many great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the charity of one's choice.

Betty was a wonderful person.I have known her for 2 years.When she was at the Manor,we shared alot of memories of her past growing up,her children,friends.We talked about Vermont,California, etc.places she lived. We did crafts together.I took her shopping,out to lunch,breakfast. I enjoyed her alot.I just visited her last week.I was also there when she was very sick last month,she didn't know me and that was very sad for me.When she was better she explained to me she pneumonia. She said she was sorry,I said I understand. I will miss her alot. Joanne
