Dorothea Wilcox Obituary

GREENWICH Dorothea M. Wilcox, 82, a resident of Route 40, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at her daughter's home on Spraguetown Road. Born Sept. 9, 1925 in Cambridge, she was the daughter of Guy and Ella (Tefft) Curtis. Dorothy was a former employee of Sherwood Medical in Argyle. She was a member of the Bottskill Baptist Church in Greenwich and Ashlar Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Her family was her life and she enjoyed bowling and camping. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Wilcox Sr. who died in 1995, and a brother, Charles Curtis. Survivors are her children: Linda McKernon and her husband, Jim, James Wilcox and his wife, Denise, Barbara Derby, Peggy Gray and Robert Wilcox, Jr. and his wife, Glenda, all of Greenwich; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchild-ren and several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich, with the Rev. Sandra Spaulding officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwich Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice or to the Rubin Center, 59 Myrtle St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (Please note in memo box on check in memory of Dorothea Wilcox, grandmother of Caryn Derby).
