Sadie Ella Guay

GLENS FALLS Sadie Ella Guay, 94, formerly of Glens Falls, passed away after a long illness on Nov. 29, 2007, at the Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury. Born on Feb. 6, 1913, in Lebanon, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Lena (St. Andrews) Richardson. As a young girl, she attended St. Mary's Academy in Glens Falls. On April 14, 1934, she married Aldie Guay. He passed away on Aug. 2, 1972. Mrs. Guay was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Mrs. Guay was a friendly, warm person that put her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren first. They were the center of her world. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Edwin Guay and two brothers, Herbert Richardson and Frederick Richardson. Survivors include her two sons, Frederick Guay of Richmondville, N.Y. and Erwin Guay and his wife, Clara, of Queensbury; her grandchildren, Susan George and her husband, Howard, of Richmondville, David Guay and his wife, Traci, of Queensbury, Richard Guay and his wife, Lenore, of Queensbury, Jeffrey Guay and his wife, Bert, of Louisiana, Mo., Catherine Combs and her fiance, Robert Gover, of Queensbury and John Guay of Washington, D.C.; seven great-grandchildren; her niece, Gail Carota of Fort Edward; and her nephew, Stanley Richardson of Auburn, N.Y. Calling hours were held on Nov. 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 136 Warren St. in Glens Falls. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 1, at St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Luzerne Road in the town of Queensbury.
