Rita Garvin Obituary
Queensbury, N.Y. Rita B. Garvin, 87, of Evergreen Lane, Queensbury and formerly of Argyle, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on April 11, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Arsene and Mary (Benway) Belisle.
Rita was a 1938 graduate of Hudson Falls High School. In 1942, Rita married Leo Garvin at St. Paul's Church in Hudson Falls. For many years, she was a data entry operator for Glens Falls Insurance Company, retiring in 1981.
Rita was a communicant of St. Mary's/St. Paul's in Hudson Falls. Rita liked to play cards and bingo. She also enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita and her sister traveled extensively on cruises.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leo, in 1978.
Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Graham of Queensbury; her son, Michael Garvin of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren: Gwendolyn Cameron and her husband, Michael, of Queensbury, Christine Mattison and her husband, Donald, of Argyle, Kimberlyn Graham of Mebane, N.C., Rodney Garvin and his companion, Jessie Williams, of Ravena, N.Y., and Robert Garvin of Tulsa, Okla.; her great-grandchildren: Heather Graham, Nathan Mattison and his fiancee, Katie Wever, and Samantha Mattison, all of Argyle, Justin Cameron and his fiancee, Jessica Wood, and her daughter, Keyana, of West Fort Ann, Amanda Cameron, Sarah Cameron and Michael Cameron, all of Queensbury, and Allissa Garvin and Mikenzie Garvin of South Glens Falls; her great-great-grandaughter, Olivia Mattison of Argyle; her sister, Vivian Hermens of Hudson Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, with the Rev. Joseph Dworak, pastor of St.Mary's/St. Paul's Church, officiating.
Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Fort Edward.
