Ruth Malin Obituary

Queensbury Ruth E. Malin, 101, of The Landing in Queensbury, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, after a short illness, at Glens Falls Hospital. She was born on Nov. 4, 1906, in Glens Falls, the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Hoag) Ellsworth. Ruth was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls. A graduate of Glens Falls High School, she graduated from Glens Falls Hospital School of Nursing. She was a private duty registered nurse. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester, in 1992; her sister, Dorothy Donhauser; and her brother, Wilson Ellsworth. Ruth is survived by her son, Tom Malin and his wife, Janice, of Glens Falls; her three grandsons, Cmdr. Doug Malin and his wife, Dawn, of Jacksonville, Fla., Maj. Paige Malin and his wife, Demauri, of Seal Beach, Calif., and Scott Malin of Glens Falls. Her great-grandchildren, Alexis and Douglas Malin, also survive her. No calling hours will be held. A private funeral service will be held for the family, with burial in Pine View Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Singleton-Healy Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.
