Jan Kulacki Obituary

INDIAN LAKE Jan Kulacki, 83, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Westmount Health Facility. He was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Lobozew, Poland, the son of the late Jan and Maria (Cioc) Kulacki. Jan worked as a blacksmith in Germany during World War II, where he met and married his late wife, Regina Skonieczna on Aug. 15, 1945, then returning to Poland he worked in the gristmill until moving to the United States in 1963. Jan worked as a cabinetmaker for Almor in Detroit, Mich. until moving to Indian Lake in January 1996. His parents, his wife, his sister, Kasia Katkowska, and his two brothers-in-law, Andrew Hawrylyszyn and Jan Katkowska predecease him. Jan is survived by his two children, his son, Ireneusz Kulacki and his wife, Kristina, of Livonia, Mich.; and his daughter, Lisa Wilson of Indian Lake; his grandchildren, Konrad Kulacki, Matthew Kulacki and Alisa Kulacki all of Michigan Erik Wilson and his wife, Heather of North Carolina, Tatiana Wilson of Indian Lake; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Wilson; along with his sister, Anna Hawrylyszyn of Livonia, Mich., and his extended family in Ukraine and Poland; also his favorite son-in-law, Bill Wilson. Services will be held in Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jan's memory are requested to Indian Lake Emergency Squad, Indian Lake, NY 12842. Arrangements are under the direction of Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
