CASTAGNOLI, MARY, (Tamagni), 84 - of Bishop McCarthy Residence, passed away June 21, 2008, where she had received loving care for the past several months, after an extended illness. Born in Vineland, she was a life long resident. Mary attended school in Vineland and graduated from Vineland High School in 1942. She worked as a seamstress in Vineland for Rose Brothers, Cumberland Clothing, Phoenix and Genesco for many years before her retirement. Mary was a loving caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking and was well known for her wonderful baking abilities, especially her famous biscotti, zuccarini and other Italian treats. She especially enjoyed baking cookies at Christmas, which she generously gave to many friends and family. Her homemade pasta, ravioli, tortellini and gnocchi were another source of enjoyment to her family. She spent countless hours crocheting and reading her collection of cookbooks. Mary also was a frequent blood donor, which she started during World War II, when her brothers were in the military service and continued for many years. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union of America and Queen of Angels Parish at St. Michael's Church in Buena Boro. She is survived by son Jimmie Castagnoli & Jeanne Vineland, Grandson Christopher Castagnoli, granddaughter & her husband Lori & DJ Repici, great-grandchildren, Nicole, Donald, Jimmie & Hunter. Special nieces Louise Agnetti, Chicky Tamagni & Marion Bosco. Many nieces & nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband, Gino, whom she married in 1946 and her parents Peter & Delfina (Serina) Tamagni of Giubiasco near Bellinzona in Canton Ticino, Switzerland, her four brothers, John, Charles, Peter & Armand Tamagni and daughter-in-law Mimi Castagnoli. A funeral home visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Rone Funeral Service. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Queen Of Angels Parish At Church Of St. Michael, 504 West Avenue, Minotola. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
