Ruth had a quiet entry into this world on August 30, 1913 and left it in the same way on June 23, 2008. But for the 95 years in between she was a remarkable, unforgettable person. She had been like a grandmother to my husband and a dear friend to me. To anyone who knew her, she brought joy into our lives with her wisdom, humor and positive outlook on life, often through her eloquent letters and lively conversation. One of her favorite comments was "See, something good happens every day!". We will miss her. "Beautiful Brigantine", as she called it, and all of us who loved her have lost a treasure.
