Albert Goodwin Obituary

GOODWIN, ALBERT ENNIS (GOODY), 97 - of Woodbine, was born March 16, 1911 at Cedar Island, North Carolina, son of William (Willie) Whitford Goodwin and Laura Styron Goodwin. He lived in New Jersey for 78 years, 60 of them in Woodbine. Anna Babbish Goodwin, his wife of 65 years, predeceased him on November 23, 2001. He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen (Susie) Goodwin Nelson of Mt. Laurel; one step granddaughter, Carol Samuels; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by four brothers, Fred Goodwin, Jesse Goodwin, Rodney Goodwin, and Harliss Styron. Albert was loved by everyone. We fondly remember him visiting his family and friends. He enjoyed talking to people. He especially liked the many visits to Cedar Island, NC, traveling there into his mid 90's. My father was a great and compassionate man. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Terry Diamond, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140 or the Free and Accepted Masons, Cannon Lodge No. 104, 370 Main Street, South Seaville, NJ 08246. Mr. Goodwin was my neighbor. He was a great kind man that lived an extraordinary life. He loved to talk about WWII and his experiences there. I loved him and will miss our visits together but I know that he is Home!
