My condolences go out to both families. What a terrible tragedy to lose two such caring and inspiring people. I knew Oksana as my aerobic instructor at Island Gym for about 4 years. There, she always had a bright disposition and a positive attitude. She payed attention to everyone and offered encouragemennt and praise for hard work and success. Health and fitness were clearly something she believed in!
I also remember that she always seemed happier on the days her sister accompanied her to her aerobic classes. It was also so sweet when she shared her personal photos from her trip with her husband to Hawaii. She was clearly so happy and in love. With deepest sympathy.

I work in the alumni and development office at Harcum College and remember Oksana and her sister Natalia very well from their days as students. I first met them in the cafeteria at lunchtime. They were friendly and outgoing, and you had to admire their spirit and determination. I would ask Oksana about the election in her native Ukraine and chide her because it was clear politics was not her thing. Later, I wrote a feature for the alumni magazine about the original research that Oksana and Natalia did as part of their senior project in dental hygiene at Harcum to show the harmful long term effects of sugared and acidic beverages on tooth enamel. Their conclusions were later validated by a national study by a major university. Oksana was clearly an extraordinary young woman with a bright future, yet some never achieve what she accomplished in her short life. I am so saddened by her passing and my heart goes out to her family and her husband's family. I will always be inspired by her memory and I know that her spirit will live on in many extraordinary ways.

I was very privileged to have known Oksana for one special year while she taught the seventh grade in our middle school department. She was always very kind. She worked very hard to do and give her best. I will always remember her smile and how hard she worked to succeed at this venture. I am deeply grieved that such a vibrant and adventurous young woman (and her special husband) had to be taken so soon. She will be forever remembered in the pages of Cumberland Christian School's yearbook and my heart. To both families, I am Deeply sorry for this much too soon loss.

Oksana was a warm sweet woman. Fun and full of life. She taught the children in our Sunday School Class and we all miss her. We know she is with Our Heavenly Father and that is a comfort in this sad time of loss.

I had the honor of meeting Oksana at Harcum College, and an immediate connection was made. She would often call me her little sister and would always make time for me. Oksana was such a beautiful, and intelligent young woman, I am truely blessed to have known her. She would always talk about her husband and you could see the love and devotion they shared. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and I hope comfort can be found in knowing Oksana touched so many lives. Oksana will be missed, but never forgotten. She has a special place in my heart and I will remember her always.

I was fortunate to have Oksana as a dental hygiene student those two years
at Harcum College. How excited she was to have been accepted to the AP
program. It was her strength and determination to succeed that I will
always remember. Difficult days were many but she perserved and I used to
remind her that she would see that light at the end of the tunnel as she
neared successful completion of the program in 2006. Her personal notes
to me when my husband took sick is what I cherish the most.
I am saddened we have lost her....
Fondly,
Rose Herman ( Harcum College

Dennis and Oksana were my mentors growing up, they sparked my love for adventure and taught me to live life to the fullest and never look back, but most importantly they taught me how an act of kindness can change a person's life. I witness Dennis do random acts of kindness that not only changed many person's life, but also an entire community. The world is a better place because of them and everything they did.

Oksana taught me to never be afraid of the unknown, that sometimes it is ok to trust your self and just "leap" for you never know what wonderful results may come from it.

May you now soar the heaves together! See you on the other side.

With all my love,
Karol Escobar

Although I only knew Oksana for a two year period when she studied to be a dental hygienist at Harcum College, it was a pleasure to know her. She was smart, energetic, and full of life. She stood up for what she believed in. Oksana and her sister Natalya called me "Mother Theresa", which made me feel loved and needed. Oksana and Dennis touched many lives in their short life. They will truly be missed. My prayers and sympathy go out to both families.
