Margaret Mary "Peggy" Ailes

Margaret Ailes Obituary

AILES, MARGARET MARY, (NEE CHAMBERS) "PEGGY"., 81 - of Pomona, Galloway Township, beloved wife and mother, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at her home, as a result of complications from cancer. She left behind her husband, Richard, Sr. (Dick); her children, Rich, Jr., Dave, Kevin, Mary Anne and Joe and their spouses, Shirley, Patti, Sue, Mitch and Kim, all of whom were able to attend to her needs in her last days through the blessings of hospice care. Peggy was also survived by her eleven grandchildren, Rebecca, Josh and Katie; Greg, Sam and Charlene; Caroline and Leah; and Drew, Mack and JeiLyn; and her five great-grandchildren, Harrison, Maura, Jacob, Grace and Benjamin. Peggy, born in 1927, was the adopted daughter of Margaret and William Chambers, who raised her from childhood in Philadelphia. She attended West Catholic High School for Girls there, but quit school in 1943 to work at the Philadelphia Navy Yard as a secretary. She later earned her GED from New Jersey in 1979. At the Navy Yard, Peggy met Dick Ailes, a young man in the US Submarine Service. They were wed in 1948 after she turned 21. She and Dick raised their family in Ogden, Pennsylvania, south of Philadelphia, for 12 years, moving to Pomona, in 1967. Peggy was deeply involved in her Catholic faith in both places, supporting church activities with the priests, nuns and laity who were central to church life. Throughout her life, she sowed the seeds of love and laughter in our hearts, making our grief deep but her memory everlasting. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Assumption Church, Pomona, where a viewing will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wimberg Funeral Home, 400 Liverpool Avenue, Egg Harbor City (609) 965-0357. Something so hard
goes straight to the soul;
it seems impossible to get over
and my heart is left with a big hole.
I'm trying to be happy, wearing a smile;but I'm dying inside.
The world seems to be fading,
and I just want to run and hide.
Everywhere I go I see your face,
and realize how much I miss you;
and on the day you died
a piece of me died too.

grams i miss you. the only good that came from this is now i have my very own guardian angle.
