Doris Horton Obituary

HORTON, DORIS 76 - of Upper Deerfield Township, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in South Jersey Regional Medical Center. The wife of the late Olaf Howard Horton, Sr., she was born in Bridgeton and was the daughter of the late Milton Hignett and Ida Hankins Hignett. She had lived in Upper Deerfield Township since 1949 and prior to that had been a resident of Bridgeton. Prior to her retirement, Doris had worked in the banking industry for 32 years and had formerly been employed with Farmers & Merchants Bank, Citizens Bank, Landis Savings Bank and the Security Savings & Loan Bank. She loved raising flowers and gardening. Survivors include: one son, Olaf H. Horton, Jr. and his wife Gail, Upper Deerfield Township; two grandchildren, John Horton and his wife Lisa, Estelle Manor and Melissa Horton, Connecticut; one great-granddaughter, Jessica Horton and one sister, Ella Mae Brooks, Medford, Oregon. She was preceded in death by a son, Milton Horton; one daughter, Ella Mae Horton and one brother, Buddy Hignett. Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Saturday afternoon, July 5, at 2:00 O'clock. Burial will be in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon between 1:00 and 2:00 O'clock.
