Stanley Schabowsky Obituary

SCHABOWSKY, STANLEY R., 78, - of Millville, passed away Wednesday morning, July 2, 2008 at Cooper Medical Center in Camden. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was a Millville resident for 42 years. Stanley was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. He retired from National Cash Register after 45 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and bowler. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the church's Financial Council, Board of Education and the PTA, of which he was Vice President. Stanley was the financial secretary of the Knights of Columbus #1778 and a Fourth Degree Knight of St. John Neumann Assembly. He was predeceased by his brother Richard. Stanley is survived by his wife of 51 years Agnes, one son Stanley, Jr. of Laurel Lake; two daughters, Loretta Sutton of Millville and Donna Grone of Heislerville; one sister Claire Ortloff of Tucson AZ; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial 11am Monday at St. Mary Magdalen Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. There will be a viewing Sun eve from 7 to 9 PM and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Barr Funeral Home, 2104 E. Main Street in Millville.
