Mike would have been 50 today. I'm a close childhood friend who had not seen Mike since grade school. I remember hearing about Mike's passing back in 2008 and sadly thought, "wow, he would have been 40 in November, just like me." I thought of him today, on his birthday, as his birthday was always a day before mine. I read through all of the postings in the guestbook below, and it sounds like he grew up to be a wonderful man and father. His children should be very proud of their father. I'm sure he's watching down with a smile on his face.

Uncle Mike was a very unique person.
He was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband and father. He was a practical joker who loved to mess around with his nieces and nephews. He always took us to fairs and amusment parks. I remember when I was a little kid he took me to one of his martial arts classes to teach me how to defend myself. I remember the last day I saw him. He raced down my street showing off his new bike. He came over to say hi and proceeded to tell us about what he and his family did on the 4th of July. I will always remember the last hug and kiss he gave me. Then he rode down my street waving good bye. Now everytime I close my eyes I see you Uncle Mike. I love you and miss you.

To the Gansert Family,
Michael was a man of many hats. Each hat came with a different personality and a radiant smile. Michael was a man who did what he wanted and had no problem telling people exactly what he thought. He held nothing back. His most important hat was a family man who loved his wife and lived for his children. His world lit up when his children were around. He was a brother too. He loved his brothers and sisters. Often laughing with or at one of them. He was an uncle, the one that all the children adored and loved. Even in a suit he had no problem playing basketball or throwing a football. He always went that extra mile. Family was everything and the only thing that was important to Michael. So, to his family, I leave you this thought. Michael would not want you all to be in so much pain. He loved you all with all and he would not want you all to continue life with sorrow and pain. He would want you to laugh, smile, think of him often, and take care of each other. Just a thought.

I'm very sorry for your loss. . . I met Michael years ago while working at the Linwood Gulf with Bruce. I didn't know him too well, but me n' Bruce talked enough (rather than working) that I knew what kind of guy and older brother he was. My thoughts are with you and your family Bruce.

Michael was a special person. He was a great husband, father, brother, uncle, and many more things. When I found out the news I was heartbroken and I still am a little. One of the things I will never forget about Michael was his love for me. He was always there for me when I needed him. If there was anything I had a problem with he help me through it. Like Michael I will always be there for his kids whether its just helping out around the house or just loving them. Thats the one thing I gaurentee to Michael.

Dear Mr & Mrs Gansert,Paul,Michelle,Jen,Bruce Jr,
Words can not express the shock and sadness I felt when I heard the news from Michelle the other day.
I rember becoming fast friends with Michael in the 7th grade when you guys moved to town. We had created so many great memories togehter from the partys in Linwood to the many concerts we enjoyed toghter. Up through High School were we sat next to one another in homeroom. Mike was known not only as being a GREAT friend and fun guy to hang out with, but the best hackysack player Mainland High School ever saw.
You guys alway treated me like one of the family!!!
My deepest thoughts and sympathy are with you at this great time of sorrow.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Jennifer and Family,
I am not sure if you remember me from MHC- I was one of the NPs. I heard from Theresa Campo, NP about your loss. I remember meeting Michael at the MHC functions. I lost my fiance in 2004 to a fatal car accident and unfortunately know your pain and grief. No mere words can express what all who know you feel for you right now. May your children bring you strength, know that Jesus has you in the palm of His hand. You will be in my prayers and thoughts.

To the Gansert family and friends,
I have not seen Mike in years but was always kept udated by Kevin or Rich. He was always such a good friend to Rich (or Ralph as Mike called him..I still don't know why he called him that!) and i know he loved my son. I remember walking home with him a few times from Brownies. I remember him and Dan Dalton always together (probably doing stuff they shouldn't have been doing!) Most of all, I remember his "It's all good"
attitude. My heart goes out to his wife and children and hope she is surrounded by family and friends during this tragedy.
God Bless

Dear Gansert Family -
Please accept my most sincere condolences on the passing of Mike.
Although I hadn't seen Mike in years, he sent me a funny message through Classmates.com about a month ago. Unfortunately, I didn't get it until a couple of weeks ago and hadn't had the time to respond with an answer which was appropriately funny enough for the question! Now I'm sad that I didn't get an opportunity to catch up with someone from the "old days".
I will keep Mike and your family in my prayers.
Sincerely -
Karen Tomasello Seliga
