Ruby Palmer Obituary

PALMER, RUBY P., 81, - of Maurice River Township, died Monday, July 7, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Philadelphia where she had been a patient for four months. Born in Clearwater, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Tony Jones, Jr. and Alfreda Jones and the wife of the late Lester T. Palmer, Sr. She had been a resident of Port Elizabeth for 60 years and had lived in Hopewell Township prior to that. Mrs. Palmer had formerly been employed at the Vineland Development Center and in the seafood industry in Bivalve. A member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church, she loved gospel singing and playing miniature golf. She is survived by four daughters, Sheila L. Sales of Vineland, Gwendolyn Cannon of Millville, Ruby L. Fields of Egg Harbor Township and Annie M. Street of Bridgeton; four sons, Lester T. Palmer, Jr. of Norfolk, VA, Aaron Palmer and James Palmer both of Millville and Mark F. Palmer of Bridgeton; one brother, Josephus Campbell of Florida, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, John Charles Palmer and an infant son, a brother, Ernest Jones and a sister, Beatrice Williams. Funeral services will be held at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 1191 Marshall Mill Road, Malaga on Saturday, July 12th at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Township. Friends may call on Saturday from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township. I'm so sorry to hear of the lost of your mother. Even though I never meant your mother, I know that she must have been a wonderful person because she has such a wonderful daughter with so much love and compassion for everyone. May God bless you and your family. My prayers go out to you.
