Anyone who ever had an occasion to be with Fran, knew that they were in the presence of a Chosen One. Fran was blessed with the gift of healing long before she became a physician. Our lives were richer because of her love and friendship. She loved all, but she loved her family fiercely. I will miss her warmth and caring for the rest of my days. I know that she will be guiding us from her own special spot above.

I attended Ocean City High School, in New Jersey, with Frances. Upon our graduation in 1969, we both went separate ways when by chance I saw her in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1980. She was paying a short visit to the city in which I lived until 1988. We both were elated to see each other; and who would have ever thought we'd reunite in that town after so many years had passed. I didn't see Frances again until August 5, 2006, at a family reunion in New Jersey held in commemoration of my deceased son, Sharif Khalid Thompson. Frances and I had great discussion that day, and she was a joy to be around throughout the entire event. I was about to pick up my phone on Saturday, July 12, 2008, to call her. Before I could, my sister called me and told me that Frances had passed. So strange, I had just talked to Frances almost exactly a year ago for advice on a medical condition that has changed my life in dramatic ways. This beautiful person and lady who passed through my life on more than one occasion, I pray, will find that Heaven, beyond what any of us can hardly imagine, is a better place to be than here. May God bless Frances' surviving family members and uphold them with his Mighty Hand as they travel this road of grief and sadness.

I first met Fran in 1968 through my wife to be, Linda Lyles of Ocean City, NJ. Upon meeting her, I immediately realized that Fran was a unique person. She had the ability to make those around her feel special and important. Linda and I will always cherish the friendship that we had with Fran. She will truly be missed. Rian, you are in our and Lizette's thoughts and prayers.
