It was a great pleasure to know your father. He was always such a pleasant, joyful man. Through my friendship with you Carleen, I spent mcuh time with you both to "keep you out of trouble" as he would say.
My heart goes out to your entire family as well as my thanks for letting me know your dad.

Jess Woods passed on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 5:47 AM from the loving arms of his family to the loving arms of Jesus.
He was a good man who lived a full and wonderful 80 years.
He was a loving and caring father, not only to his own 3 children, but to his nieces and nephews as well.
He loved life and many things.
He loved kids, God, America, Freemasonry, fishing, big band music, slow dancing, baseball, beer, and banana splits.
Throughout his life he danced with more than a few beautiful women, caught more than a few flounder, had more than a few laughs over more than a few beers, and told his family he loved them more than a few times.
As a young man, he was more handsome than Errol Flynn. As he aged he was more handsome than Sean Connery.
He ran away at 17 to save the world from evil in the 40’s. He came back with some really cool sailor tattoos on his Popeye-esque forearms (the heart that said “mother” is a personal favorite), and some awesome tales of adventure.
After his return, he saved some of us from ourselves, and led us by example to be strong, proud, and productive. He gave tirelessly to his family and his community.
He tried to hide his big soft heart and his outright silly sense of humor through a tough hard exterior, but thankfully for us, at this he failed.
He knew so much about so many things. Today feels as if a library has burned down. He did share so much knowledge and insight, though, that it is not lost. We are passing it down. To our children, we can only hope to share but some of what he has shared with us.
He will always be forever in our hearts.
To Josiah Howard Woods with love and thanks:
