Aunt Gladie, I am struggling to realize that when I come home in a couple of weeks, you will not be there. I wanted so much to see you again. You, Uncle Robley, Joyce and Robley were such an important part of my childhood. You loved me just as I was, and always held your arms wide open for me. I have stored so many happy memories of you in my heart. Watching your life has made an impact upon mine. Your heart was always full of compassion for others, and you possessed the wonderful gift of finding the best in everyone. As your sight began to fail, you kept a positive attitude and always found something to be thankful for. You would say, " I have so much to be thankful for, my family takes such good care of me." I love you, Aunt Gladie, I grieve that you are gone, and yet I know where you are. As I write, you are seeing and enjoying all that heaven has for us, and one day, I'll join you there!

Aunt Gladie: I love you so much and will miss seeing you when I come to Port Republic. You were always so welcoming and interested in me and my children's lives. Thank you for your unconditional love! I am happy your suffering is over and you are with your precious Joyce and Uncle Robley! (Did Uncle Robley ask you what took you so long? Ha) You taught me many things about contentment. When you lost your eye sight you still kept your cheerful attitude. What a testimony of God's grace in your life. I will miss you but will be with you before too long. My love,

Good-bye Aunt Glaide. What a treasure we have lost. We rejoice with you that you are now with God, Uncle Robley, and Joyce. We grieve because we loved you so much. You were ALWAYS a source of encouragement to us. You prayed for God to take you to heaven. He answered your prayer in His own time. Your passing has left a huge hole in our hearts that no one elase can fill. We will stay close to Robley, JoAnn, Tina and Stephanie. I can't wait to get to heaven and to hear you say, "Hi, Ruth". We'll not wish you back, because we know you are healed and in peace. But heaven is more real now and we'll see you there at God's appointed time. I love you, Ruth

We are all very sad to learn of Gladys' death. We were neighbors and friends for thirty-eight years.
I have great memories of Gladys and Robley snapping beans under a tree in their back yard. They might have been busy, but they always shared some time for a friendly conversation and few good jokes.
Gladys and her family will always represent the best qualities of Port
Republic. We will keep her memory in our hearts forever.
