Edward E. Finsel

FINSEL, EDWARD E., 92, - of Ocean City, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at The Shores at Wesley Manor in Ocean City. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a resident of Line Lexington, PA for many years, a resident of Landenberg, PA and a resident of Ocean City, since 2002. He was a Veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army before his honorable discharge in 1946. He was a graduate of Central Evening High School. He received his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Finsel had a certificate in TV training and built his own Tube TV from scratch. He liked working with his hands, built his family home in Line Lexington, PA, worked with Stained Glass and in his younger years built a church pipe organ from scratch in his home. Mr. Finsel was a mechanical engineer for American Engineer and for 19 years for Yarnell-Waring Co. before his retirement. He owned the Inglewood Garden Apartments in Lansdale, PA, for many years. For the past 25 years he was a self employed clock repairman and was had managed three miniature golf courses on the Ocean City boardwalk. Mr. Finsel was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale where he was a member of the church council and choir, he was currently a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church serving on the church council and choir. He served on church choirs for over 80 years in numerous churches. He was predeceased by his wife, Erna S. Finsel. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Finsel of Hockessin, DE, and Nancy Finsel of Ambler, PA. A service of Memory and Love will be offered Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Eighth Street at Central Avenue, Ocean City, where friends may call from 10 o'clock until the time of service.
