Emma Amato

AMATO, EMMA 85 - of Mays Landing, passed away on July 10, 2008 at her home. Born and raised in Bronx, NY, she previously lived in Timonium, MD before moving to Mays Landing 2 years ago. In her youth, Emma did modeling in Manhattan, NY. Mrs. Amato worked as a teacher at the Helen Keller Services for the Blind for more than 10 years. Emma was self-taught in computers and was fluent in sign language and Braille. In her leisure time, Emma enjoyed cooking, crocheting, the theatre, listening to Italian music and spending time with her family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daugher, Andrea Amato-Jacobs and her husband Allan; and her son Leonard Amato. Viewings will be held on Monday, 10 a.m. - 12 Noon and 8 p.m. till 11 p.m., at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, NJ. Burial will be private at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardnes, MD.
