Dorothy Hettinger Obituary

HETTINGER,DOROTHY J. 80 - of Little Egg Harbor Township, loving wife, mother and mom-mom, passed away Monday, July 7, at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Stafford Twp., after a brave struggle with a long time illness. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, residing there prior to moving to Little Egg Harbor Twp. 40 years ago. She was the daughter of Thelma Bruskiewicz and Frank Cyrankowski. Dot graduated from Nazareth Academy High School in Philadelphia, and sang opera as a young teen on the radio show "The Children's Hour." She enjoyed cooking and baking and passed these talents and her appreciation for music to her children and granddaughters. She was predeceased by her sister, Frances Harvey. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Chuck, sons Mark and Tim, both of Little Egg Harbor, daughter Charlene Smith and husband Robert, of Little Egg Harbor, brother Edward Cyrankowski, and wife Irma, of Philadelphia, PA, granddaughters Danielle Rose-Grisham and husband Richard and great-grandson Leo Richard, of Columbus, NJ, Nicole Rose-Montag and husband William of Galloway, NJ, Patricia Vangelas, and husband George and children Katrina and Troy of Fort Worth, Texas, Penny Smith of Tuckerton, NJ, and 11 nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call Wednesday, July 16, from 10-11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., at Wood Funeral Home, 134 East Main St., Tuckerton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dot's memory may be sent to Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Road, Memphis, TN, 38105.

Dearest Charlene (my older best friend) and to the rest of your family, i was so saddened to read of your mom's passing....i think of you so often and really miss you....i will always remember our trip on the ferry with "dot" to st. michael's, md....so much fun and laughter, i will keep you in my thoughts and prayers in the days to come..... love, donna
