Herbert H. Bakley III

BAKLEY, HERBERT H., III 67, - of Northfield, on July 13, 2008. Born in Atlantic City, attended Woodbury High School and proudly served seven years in the United States Navy. Herb was a member of the Friendship Fire Co. since 1968 and also served as a police officer for the City of Woodbury for nine years. From 1989 until his retirement in 2007, he was an Operating Engineer in the Fire Command Center at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 68 of Atlantic City. Herb was a member of the South Jersey English Darts Association and an avid golfer. Herb is survived by his wife of 47 years, Eleanor Bakley (nee Stevenson); sons Herbert W. and Donald W.; daughters Susan Zarlingo and the late Donna Jean Kirsch. He was a loving son to his surviving father, Herbert H. Bakley, Jr. and mother, the late Quindola Bakley. Loving Grandfather of Jennifer Locantora, Maria Chance, Daniel Bakley, Lindsey Kirsch, Jessica Zarlingo and Amanda Bakley. Great-grandfather of five. The viewing will be held Thursday July 17, 2008 from 6:30-9PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home 34 Hunter St. Woodbury. Family burial will be held privately.
