John Bolger Obituary



BOLGER, JOHN J., 83 - of Cape May, passed away Sunday, July 20th, 2008 in his home with his loved ones beside him. Johnny was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, where he met his loving wife of 60 years, Evelyn 'Ebby' (Lehman). Mr. Bolger vacationed in Cape May for 20 years and happily moved here in 1992. Mr. Bolger was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge, and served his country honorably. He was employed as a railman with the New York City Transit Authority for 20 years (retiring in 1982. Johnny was a strong and devoted husband and father, who will be forever loved and missed. He was predeceased by his son Thomas in 1975; his sisters Maureen and her husband George, Ann and husband Richard, and his sister-in-law Edna and Mickey. Mr. Bolger is survived by: his loving wife, Ebby; his son Timmy; his daughters-Colleen and Mary and their spouses Jane and Nick; his adored grandsons - Brian, John Thomas (USCG), Casey and Kevin; his sisters-Theresa (Artie), Eileen (John), Pat and Guy; his brother, Vincent and wife Louise; his sister-in-law Florie and brother-in-law Bill; and so many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Sudak-Danaher Funeral Home, 815 Washington St., Cape May. Our hero Johnny will be interred with full honors at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery to be attended by his loving family and friends. Donations are suggested in his memory to: Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9 north, Swainton, NJ 08210; or to one favorite charity.
