Donald Boudov Obituary



BOUDOV, DONALD LOUIS, 66 - of Liverpool, died at home in Liverpool on Friday, July 18, surrounded by his loving family. Don was a thirty year resident of the Liverpool area. For all of his working life, he was committed to advocacy on behalf of persons with developmental disabilities. He was on the Staff of the National ARC for two years before coming to Central New York to serve as Executive Director of the Onondaga ARC, for 19 years, and of Aurora CNY, for 4 years, before he retired from Chenango ARC in January 2007. Don was also very active in the community. He served on the Board of Directors and as President of Rape Crisis Center and was a Founding Member and President of the Salt City Soccer Club. Don coached youth soccer for many years. He and his wife took youth soccer teams to Europe and hosted teams from both Scotland and Russia. Don is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, daughter, Deena (Scott) Swenson of Seneca Falls, NY, son, David (Deanna) Boudov of Liverpool, and his especially beloved grandchildren, Connor and Rya Swenson and Gibson Boudov. Additionally surviving are his brother Milton (Claire) Boudov of Los Angeles, CA, his sister, Bonnie (Randy) Morton of Albemarle, NC, his step-mother, Selma Boudov of Northfield, several nieces and nephews, cousins and hosts of loving friends and colleagues. Don was predeceased by his parents, Morris and Mildred Boudov of Atlantic City. Don will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all of his family and friends. A memorial service will be scheduled in Atlantic City at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Onondaga ARC, 600 S. Wilber Ave., Syracuse, NY 13204 and or to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.

I played baseball in the Kiwanis League with Donnie in the early 50's. I'll always remember him as a great teammate and a great guy. I wish I could have seen him again before he passed on. My condolesences to his family and friends.

There never was a more loving person then Donny- even all through high school. We danced our hearts out and had so much fun, but always knew he would grow into the man he became. My heart and condolences go out to his family- he was taken way too soon. So many of his classmates will miss him and we will hold him in our memory forever. Vicki Gold Levi
