Carmen DePalma Obituary



DEPALMA, CARMEN L., 79, - of East Vineland, passed away peacefully Thursday at South Jersey Regional Medical Center. Born in Vineland to the late Michael and Theresa (Campergher) DePalma, he attended Vineland public schools. Carmen worked at Shieldalloy in Newfield for eight years, then worked as a custodian for the Vineland Board of Education for many years retiring in 1994. He was a line officer, past president, and local and state exempt fireman for City of Vineland Volunteer Fire Co. No. 5. Carmen was a cat lover and an avid gardener. He is survived by brother and wife Robert and Sandra DePalma, of Vineland, brother Richard DePalma, of Vineland, sister, Loretta Berner of Millville, sister and husband, Arlene and Rudy Taminini of Vineland, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Ernie DePalma, and Larry DePalma, and sisters Josephine Michelletti, Terry West and Elaine Keener. A church visitation will be held on Monday from 9:15 to 10:45 am followed by a funeral liturgy at 11:00 am at St. Padre Pio Parish At Our Lady Of Pompeii Church, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Our Lady Of Pompeii Cemetery, Vineland.
